Celebrating Local Life
On Saturday 27th, the Aga shop Holt hosted an open day dedicated to the best local producers in the area. The event successfully championed the great foods, dedication and passion of our local producers.
Things kicked off with the ultimate Great British Breakfast with produce from Groveland Butchers and Krusty Loaves Bakery, creating a tasty start to the day. Our guests were greeted with a glass of fruity refreshment, thanks to locally based producers Back to the Garden farm shop and Groveland Greengrocers.
A variety of demonstrations marked the highlights of the day. Simon of P&S Butchers demonstrated the technique behind filleting a haunch of venison and preparing partridges. The next topic was fish – and John of The Norfolk Fish Company eagerly talked customers through the steps of filleting fish and discussed the range of fresh, locally sourced seafood he supplies.
Aga demonstrator Chrissie Hill did a sterling job of cooking dishes inspired by the local produce we had at hand. From game pie to a selection of cakes and desserts, our customers agrred that every dish and mouthful was a taste sensation.
