How to find us:
We are located near the centre of the town, on Stramongate, down from the cobbled street and the historic market place, passing the 1657 chocolate house and just opposite the Quaker Tapestry Exhibition and tearooms, well known in the town centre.
By Road – Leave at Junction 36 of the M6 and take the A590 to Kendal south. Follow the Windermere signs through the town centre and the multi storey car park is on the left, clearly sign posted. Park in there and follow the signs for Stramongate.
Or take the A590 and follow the signs to Kendal town centre. Follow the one way system and at the traffic lights located at Kwik Fit, Sandes Avenue, turn right and park in the multi storey car park. Follow the signs for Stramongate.
By Train – From Kendal station follow the signs for Stramongate.By Bus - Get off at the Kendal bus station and follow the signs to Stramongate
Meet the team
Shop Manager, Gaynor Doherty has worked at The Aga Shop Kendal for 3 years and is herself an Aga owner. Indeed, Gaynor has the new 3-oven, 13 amp electric Aga which she chose for its ease of installation and flexibility for positioning almost anywhere in the kitchen. Her colleague Emma Taylor is also an Aga owner. Both say that they couldn’t image life without their Agas. The simplicity of Aga cooking allows Gaynor time for swimming, reading and DIY and rasing funds for her daughter's school. Lynda Walden has been a dedicated Aga Shop member for 10 years and we recently welcomed Anne Graves as the newest member of the team. Anne recently attended the Aga retail training given to all new employees when they join Aga. A whole week is spent at Aga Headquaters in Telford where the highlights are the foundry tour in which you see the inconic Aga iron been cast and the enamelling plant where the gorgeous colours are applied. Project manager Andrew Kay has worked with Aga for many years and has a wealth of experience with fitting the Aga coker.
Our Store:
Our showroom features a 4 oven pewter 30AMP night storage electric demonstration Aga, a fully operational gas Rayburn 480AG that provides our central heating and hot water, as well as being used for cookery demonstrations. In addition we have a Six-Four, a Four Two, a Masterchef , and the latest addition is the stunning Aga Side By Side Refrigerator in black.
In-store Events
We regularly hold in-store events and demonstrations on our live 4 oven night storage Aga. Please contact the store for up to date event information. Local Life Open Day between Aga Shop Adlington and Kitridding Farm Shop, Lupton.
Stewart and Christine Lambert husband and wife team run the farm and have created a wonderful farm and tea shop stocking homemade sauages, pork, lamb, beef ,mutton and chicken. They also stock Sue Pricketts preserves and chutneys which are all delicious, in particular her Raspberry jam and spicy Mediterranean chutney.

Stewart brought a selection of his products and customers had chance to purchase his products and Sue Pricketts he also brought his sauage stuffer and many customers had a go and then were able to take their sausages home for tea.
  
Everyone had a good day and Gaynor, Lynda and Anne really enjoyed it. Emma, who is currently on maternity leave was busy also at the time, having her baby!!! We all wish the new arrval and mother well, but we didn't save them any sausages, they were simply too delicious
Weekly Baking: This weeks favourite is Chocolate Cake with Ganache Icing from 'One Step Ahead' by Mary Berry. Everyone loves them why not try them for yourselves. We always have a cake or biscuit on the go expertly made by either Anne or Lynda.
