Edinburgh Loves Local Life!

We were very pleased to recently host an open day dedicated to promoting the best of our local foods. The Aga Local Life campaign had arrived in Edinburgh!

Our demonstrator, Susan McGinty did us proud by cooking a diverse range of excellent dishes which all used ingredients from our various local producers. Some of the favourites of the day included; succulent roast leg of mutton, and a fragrant Moroccan lamb tagine. Mrs Hamilton Organics provided the delicious lamb and other meat while the freshest of vegetables came from Whitmuir Organics (both shops well worth a visit next time you are in the area!). Scotherbs provided fragrant, fresh herbs and also a selection of dressings and marinades.

Throughout the day we sold helium balloons in an effort to raise funds for the Edinburgh Sick Childrens Hospital. The balloons were released at the end of the day and a prize will be given to the person who returns the balloon that has drifted furthest afield – so watch this space!

On the 21st of September we took part in the Scottish Food Festival in Alva. With so many top Scottish producers in one area, it proved to be the ultimate spot to discover and showcase the fantastic produce in our region. Our stand was a popular stop-off point, with visitors sharing their Aga stories with us and enjoying the opportunity of tasting our delicious, traditional Aga baked goods.

In-Store Demonstration and Events

Throughout the year we hold a number of in-store demonstrations which are an excellent way of ‘tasting’ how good Aga cooking really is and to experience the versatility and simplicity of Aga and Rayburn range cookers.

To register for any of the dems listed above call us on 0131 225 7293 or email us at Edinburgh@aga-web.co.uk but do hurry as places get booked up well in advance.

This photograph show Manager Helen along with a represenative from Sportsmatch presenting their cheque to the newly kitted out team. The age range of the team spans 30years, the youngest being 17.
